A masterclass with Chelsea Manning and Meredith Whittaker, organised and convened by Jaya Brekke for Web Summit Rio. The class brought together the teams from Signal app and Nym technologies to discuss corporate mass surveillance today and how we got here. Both organisations seek to defeat mass surveillance and protect the fundamental right to privacy - and to do so by building excellent software as well as new transformative business models.
